  • Color photographs that are equivalent to the dimensions of a passport
  • The result of an English language proficiency test, such as the International English Language Testing System (IELTS),
  • Proof of fee payment (either a valid receipt indicating that the applicant has submitted the course fees to an approved student fee payment service or a copy of the Electronic Transfer of Funds by the applicant to the Irish bank of the university or college)
  • Evidence of sufficient funds (€7,000) to cover your living expenses for the duration of your course
  • Evidence that explains any discrepancies in your educational background (if any)
  • Information regarding medical insurance
  • Additionally, you may be requested to submit your biometric information as part of the application process.
  • A declaration of your intention to depart Ireland upon the expiration of your visa
  • Application summary pages and evidence of your return home are required as attested documents for a ‘C’ visa.
  • Demonstration of academic proficiency to pursue your desired course of study

Additionally, you may be required to participate in a personal interview at the Ireland embassy or consulate.

A complete translation must be included if any of your documents are not in English or Irish. Additionally, each translated document must include:

  • A confirmation from the translator as evidence of the precise translation of the original document that was submitted;
  • The date of translation;
  • The translator’s complete name and signature
  • The contact information for your translator

When can you apply?

A study visa may be applied for up to three months prior to your intended travel date to Ireland. However, if you intend to visit another country prior to your stay in Ireland, you must have a valid visa for that country in your passport before you can apply for an Irish visa.
